How to Install

  1. Download Float-1.0.9.dmg
  2. Open the downloaded DMG file
  3. Drag Float.app into your Applications folder
  4. Open Applications and launch Float

macOS Security Warning (Important)

On first launch, macOS may show a warning like:

  • "Float can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software"
  • or "Float is from an unidentified developer"

This is expected for apps distributed outside the App Store.

  1. Open Applications
  2. Right-click Float.app
  3. Click Open
  4. Click Open again in the confirmation popup

  1. Try opening Float once (let it get blocked)
  2. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security
  3. Find the blocked app message for Float
  4. Click Open Anyway

Float supports in-app updates.

  • Float checks for updates automatically
  • You can also use Help → Check for Updates...
  • When a new version is available, click Download and Install
  • Your app settings and Pro/free state remain intact after updates

Troubleshooting

"Float is damaged and can't be opened"

  • Re-download the DMG from this page
  • Remove old copies of Float from Downloads/Applications
  • Install again

"Update check failed"

  • Make sure you're online
  • Try again from Help → Check for Updates...
  • If it still fails, download the latest DMG from this page
