1. Introduction
Welcome to Float. Your privacy is critically important to us. We have built Float from the ground up to operate primarily on your local device. This Privacy Policy explains what limited information we collect, how it is used, and how it is protected.
2. Data We Collect
Local Data: Float is a native macOS application. Your browsing history, videos watched, window placements, opacity settings, and shortcuts are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store this data on our servers.
Website Analytics: When you visit our website (float.codes), we use Vercel Analytics to understand basic traffic patterns (e.g., page views, referring domains). This data is aggregated and anonymized.
Payment Processing: When you purchase a Float Pro license, your payment is securely processed by our Merchant of Record, Polar.sh. We do not see or store your full credit card information. Polar.sh handles your email and transaction details in accordance with their privacy policies.
3. How We Use Your Information
The only personal information we retain is the email address used during checkout for the Float Pro license. This is used strictly for:
- Sending your license key and purchase receipt.
- Providing customer support if you encounter issues.
- Sending critical updates regarding your purchase or the software.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Polar.sh: For securely processing payments and license generation.
- Vercel Analytics: For basic, privacy-friendly website analytics.
